Muslim Jarral Rule - Rajauri
Rajput Rulers
for over Six Hundred and Fifty Years
Noor-Ud-Din Khan and the Jarral Muslim army attacked the Rajauri city in Kashmir and
captured it, in 1194. The Jarrals' established Rajauri's 1st Muslim rule, which lasted over 650 years.
During this period the Jarral Dynasty, they enjoyed a revenue of Rs 3 Lakh per annum.
They also were very kind and fair to other casts and religious sects. Many Hindus were employed in senior positions to serve the Jarral Kings and received generous rewards.
These Jarral rulers built hospitals, educational establishments and social care provision for the community.
The fall of Jarral Dynasty
to Dogra Rajputs (Rajauri)
In 1846, under the terms of 'The Treaty of Amritsar' the Dogra Rajput Maharaja Gulab Singh bought the whole of Kashmir from the British. The land did not belong to the
British East India Company nor Raja Gulab.

The Jarrals refused to cooperate with the Dogras and fought many battles against the Dogra Army, creating havoc. The Dogras then sought British help and the Dynasty came to an end. The ruling Jarral families were exiled and moved to Wazirabad in Punjab by the British. These Jarrals' also developed some big personalities in Pakistan throughout the years that followed.

Since 1947 and to date, Kashmir remains divided. The United Nations Security Council's resolution 47, April 1948 has been a failure for Kashmiris.
Three wars over Kashmir.
The dispute continues seventy years on and so does the violence and bloodshed.
Geopolitics will always dominate Kashmir.
Freedom + Unity = Peace
